Childbirth Preparation is a 4-session course that provides you and a support person with essential information and support as you prepare for birth. Carried out over 12 total classroom hours, the class series reviews in detail what you need to know around your upcoming birth experience, utilizing a more slow-paced environment that allows you to build relationships with your instructor and the other participants in class.
Masks are optional for participants and instructors.
- Class topics include:
- Pregnancy basics
- Understanding labor and birth
- Medication and anesthesia
- The basics of Cesarean birth
- The early post-partum period
In addition to these class topics, you will have the opportunity over the class series to learn about and practice relaxation techniques and receive feedback from your instructor.
Class cost includes 6 months exclusive access to the See What You Read website, SeeWhatYouRead.com. This online resource is a companion to the class book and provides video clips, printable charts and checklists, interactive web tools, and much more. Access PIN number is provided during class.
You are also welcome to bring food and drinks for your enjoyment during class.
Class fee includes participant and one adult partner. Partners are encouraged to attend.

Refund policy: To obtain a refund for any Childbirth Education classes, a request must be submitted at least 24 hour prior to the start of the class. Inova Well reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. To reschedule or request a refund in these situations call 571-472-1400, option 2. Classes not rescheduled within 30 days of cancellation will automatically be refunded to the credit card used for registration. Inova Well will accommodate class transfer requests whenever possible, however, transfers are not guaranteed. All registrants are entitled to ONE transfer per class. You may bring a yoga mat, exercise ball, or blanket to use during labor practice. Feel free to bring a snack and drink to enjoy during class.
